Placing an Order


Please note we try and keep our stock levels as acurate as possible but as we use stock from our two shops to fulfil orders sometimes an item can sell out before we have change to adjust the stock levels on our website.If you would like to check an item is in stock before placing an order please call us on 0115 9250599 or drop us an email at neil@fairlytrading.com.

Thanks for your message it was really informative,so in terms of what the actual metal is on the leaf its 24k gold coated with a special colour solution?e.g the silver colour is 24k gold that has been electroplated and coated with a silver colour solution? We're just in the process of deciding about going for the range as it's so different from our other products and I just wondered exactly what the metal coating was as certain customers have metal allergies. That's great about exclusivity I will let Neil know.

You can place any order securely on our website and pay in complete confidence using your credit/ debit or PayPal account using PayPal's server which you will be taken too at the end of the purchase. Should you prefer, you are more than welcome to place an order over the phone as well, please call 0115 9250599 should you wish to do so. Credit card details can be securely taken in both our shops so if you would rather deal with a human being please call one of our shops.

By using our website and ordering from us, you are accepting our terms and conditions. Please note that no contract exists between us until we have contacted you about your order in person. All prices are in pounds sterling, retail prices include VAT. We welcome payment by card - Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Maestro or Electron. We regret that we cannot accept American Express cards. Payment will not be taken until the goods are being dispatched, and we will only take payment for goods being dispatched on that day. Unfortunately we cannot accept cheques for retail orders.

We will contact you to confirm stock availability on your order, so please provide a daytime contact number or an email address you will check regularly. It is also possible to make changes to your order at this time.


Back Orders

Any back orders that will fit through your letterbox will be dispatched when the stock is delivered to us. For anything over this size we will give you a call to arrange a delivery time.

Most goods will be sent on a service that requires a signature. Please specify a delivery address where someone will be available during normal office hours to sign for the parcel.


Gift Orders

We aim to displatch your orders within 48 hours of receiving payment subject to availability, however please allow up to 14 days for delivery of your purchases. Should you require you orders for a specific date, please contact our customer service team on 0115 9250599 and we will endeavour to meet your needs.


Pick Up In Store

Please note if you select the delivery option as 'Pick Up In Store' we will check our stock levels and then contact you to arrange a mutually convenient time for you to collect your order.

Please wait for us to contact you before arriving to collect your order as sometimes we need to transfer items between our two shops to get to them to the store you have choosen to collect from.


Carriage Charges


Carriage to Mainland UK orders for all non-furniture items is only £3.95, no matter how many items you buy! For all orders this includes insurance should the goods be lost or broken in transit.


Putumayo CD Orders


UK postage for Putumayo CD's  is FREE and £2 for the rest of Europe. Any Putumayo returns must still be in their original sealed condition or returns will not be accepted. 


Furniture Orders.

All furniture is available to order, but subject to a lead time of up to a maximum of 12 weeks. We hold stocks of many items, but cannot advise on specific lead times until we have received your order. Should you require any further details regarding lead times before placing an order, please call our customer service team on 0115 9250599.

Furniture Delivery Standard Service

Unless you select our two man delivery service, furniture will be delivered on a pallet to your door, or if small enough to be boxed, by courier. Deliveries will be made Monday to Friday, within normal office hours. Please ensure you will be in when your pallet is due to be delivered as there may be an additional charge for re-delivery. The standard service could be delivered in an extra large truck, and the driver is not able to leave it out of sight, so please make sure you are confident there is enough room in your street for him to get to your house.

Please check items for damages before the driver leaves, as it is not possible to claim for damages that have occurred in transit, if they are not pointed out to the driver. Unfortunately the driver can not remove the pallet or wrapping. The standard delivery service costs ranges from £10 to £50 for UK mainland orders, depending on where you live. We will be able to dispatch the goods from our warehouse within a few days of receiving the order, dependent upon stock levels.

Fairly Trading Delivery Plus...


For just £25 more, we have our in-house delivery service. We will deliver the items into a room and position of your choosing, unwrap and wait while you check the items are in good condition. We will then also take away the packaging. We will give you a maximum window of 3 hours (subject to normal traffic conditions) and on request will give you a phone call when we're about 1 hour away. If you would like to discuss lead times and confirm delivery charges for this service, please contact the customer service team on 0115 9250599.

For all furniture orders, please supply a daytime contact phone number as we need to speak to you to arrange delivery.

Delivery Plus is only available on deliveries to UK Mainland addresses. For all other destinations we will contact you with a quotation for delivery. We ship worldwide, so please feel free to place orders wherever you are, and we will give you a call with a quotation for delivery.


Please notify us of any breakages within 7 days of receiving the order, and we will send a replacement. Unwanted items may be returned in their original packaging, in perfect saleable condition, for a full refund. We regret that postage costs cannot be refunded unless goods are being returned due to an error on our part. This applies to both outbound and return postage. Goods must be returned within 14 days of receipt of the order. Unfortunately we are unable to accept returned earrings unless faulty.

Descriptions and Care of Goods

We have taken every care to ensure that pictures and descriptions are representative, but please be aware that most products are handmade and minor variations are inevitable. This is particularly true for soft furnishings, even more so for those made from recycled sari- all these pieces are unique.

Your Privacy...

When you place an order, we require your name, address, telephone number and email address. We will not ever need your payment details as your payment will be taken by PayPal using their secure server. Your information will be kept so we can inform you of offers and new products from FairlyTrading.com. If you do not wish to be kept on our mailing list please contact us.
